Education is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. It should be\r\navailable to all children free of charge and should be of high quality. Many countries have recognized this basic human right in their constitutions. Yet 100 million children have never been to school, two-thirds of them girls. If the international goals on education (set in Dakar and reaffirmed as Millennium Development Goals) are to be achieved by 2015 then investment in education will have to rise. New teachers will need to be recruited and new classrooms built.
