Despite a sluggish global growth, the number of millionaires is growing in the world, widening the gap with the poorest populations. That is the conclusion of the 2014 edition of the " Global Wealth Report ", published by Credit Suisse . The overall global household wealth (financial and real estate assets, expressed in dollars) increased by 8.3 % year on year , to reach 263,000 billion at June 30, 2014. Either 20% more than before the crisis of 2008. In addition, the number of millionaires grew by more than 10 % year on year to 34.8 million people in the world, against 31 million a year earlier. The largest increase in household wealth has been observed in North America (+ 11.4 % yoy ) and Europe (+ 10.6%), followed by Africa (+ 6 %) and Asia Pacific (including China ), which progresses in this area only 3.4 %. According to the study , the number of African millionaires will grow by 93% by 2019 to reach 279,000 people.
